| Smart Hard Drives form Toshiba Posted: 11 May 2011 05:04 AM PDT Your data is very important and crucial. Maybe it is just a note or just a couple of pages documents, but if it is taken by the wrong person, it could be disaster for you and your company. Your competitor can use the data from the document to drag you down and kill your business. Therefore, Toshiba, one of the leading technology company has an idea of smart hard drives that can automatically erase the data if it is connected to an unknown machine. The hard drives can also lock the datausing AES 356 encryption. When hard drive is taken away from the original machine and then connected to other machines, the hard drive will detect the machine and automatically lock the system. The system works to the specific code that has been synced with the original machine. By doing the encryption and erasing action, the company will have more assurance that the data will be either deleted or encrypted. The chip inside the hard drive will make sure that the data is kept secret and no leaks will happen. This smart hard drive will be launched in the short future and the Toshiba not yet mention the price or the specification of the hard drive.
